Preschool classes provide a great opportunity for children to learn new academics, social skills, and have fun. Cedar Hills Recreation Center is happy to offer different types of preschool classes for our community.

First Time Friends & ABC Come Learn with Me

Ages 2-5 years
These classes encourage children to grow emotionally and socially to adapt to a classroom setting. We will strengthen our skills in sharing, listening and following directions; learn to make transitions and much more through art, stories and free play. These are a non parent participation class.

Art Programs

Ages 1.5-5 years
Engage with your child making art projects. Structured to allow your little artists to experience different materials and techniques with your help. Adult participation required.

Jump Start 9-month Preschool at Cedar Hills Recreation Center

Jump Start is a preschool programs based around the Reggio Emilia philosophy which uses creative play and social learning to prepare children for kindergarten. Your child will be placed in a group of children for the nine-month preschool program from September through May. The preschool programs will run at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center located at 11640 SW Park Way in Portland, Oregon.

-Tuition is paid on a monthly basis and is due by the 15th of the month prior (example: November tuition is due by October 15th). If payment is received after the 15th, a late fee of $30 will be charged. Ask us about ERDC funding to help pay for your preschool.

-All children MUST be able to use the restroom independently before entering preschool. Pull-ups are not allowed.

-Children must be the correct age by September 1st.

Registration can be completed by contacting the program coordinator listed below who oversees the program you are interested in. There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee due at the time of registration. All tuition prices are listed for in-district/assessment paid. Classes that are eligible for Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) payments are marked as *ERDC eligible. For more information please visit: https://www.oregon.gov/delc/programs/pages/erdc.aspx.
